By Jack Haley, National First Aid Competition Coordinator (jack.haley@skipatrol.ca)
Hopefully you or someone you ski with has been following 5/5. We want to be certain that everyone is aware of the national first aid competition being held at the Altitude Conference at the Delta Downtown Calgary on June 6, 2020 as part of the Altitude Conference.
I have polled the division training managers, and have an idea of the number of teams that will be vying for recognition on the national stage; it looks to be a competitive group.
The competition development team is working to finalize the stations. We promise to challenge teams while having an interesting time. In preparation, most zones and divisions will be hosting their own events in the coming months. Enjoy and appreciate the time and effort that goes into the preparation. Competitors … prepare yourselves!
In addition to the competitors, we will need evaluators, marshals and those capable of casualty simulation, so there are a number of things going into the mix to make this a success on your behalf.
I have fielded questions from across the country already, but if anybody needs additional information, please contact me at jack.haley@skipatrol.ca.
