Why Keen footwear is perfect for patrollers
With the amount of tasks and the time CSP members spend on their feet, it’s important to have protective, comfortable, and durable shoes. Those features combined with warm, waterproof and high-quality design, are what makes KEEN footwear perfect for patrollers and winter outdoor enthusiasts navigating snowy, slippery conditions and everything in between.
A bit about Keen
Founded in 2003, KEEN is known for making adventure sandals with innovative toe protection. But KEEN is not just about hybrid water shoes – they also make running shoes, hiking shoes and boots for women, men, and kids, for all four seasons.
Keen’s winter boots and shoes have different features that encourage you to get out there in the colder seasons:
KEEN.DRY features an environmentally friendly, waterproof, breathable membrane that lets vapour out without letting water in.
KEEN.WARM RECYCLED P.E.T. plastic fibres create lightweight insulation in varying weights for warmth that has less impact on the environment. Different styles have different ratings (some of the models I looked at had anywhere from -25°F/-32°C to -40°F/-40°C).
A thermal foil barrier keeps the cold out and the heat in by harnessing radiant heat.
Environmentally preferred premium leather from a LWG-certified (sustainable) tannery.
Eco Anti-Odour for natural, pesticide-free odour control.
KEEN.FREEZE utilizes a rubber compound in the outsole which stays flexible in low temperatures for better traction in cold weather. Some models even have KEEN.POLAR TRACTION which utilizes microscopic shards in the outsole to create a “micro-cleat” effect for better grip on snow, ice and wet or oily surfaces.
KEEN.PROTECT Toe Bumper is a durable rubber toe “bumper” in the front of the shoe to prevent stubbing your toe on rocks, debris, and other hard objects.
CSP and KEEN’s pro program
