By Jennifer Delaney, Director of Communications, Ontario Division (jennifer.delaney@skipatrol.ca)
The national communication and marketing team is looking for patrollers to help with a media project next winter that we are very excited about. This is where we say “the CSP wants you!”
We are looking to shoot still and video images of patrollers at work on the hills showing what job we do, the camaraderie and the family feeling we have. We also want to have a good reflection of the work we do.
Producer – National Video Assets Adrian Saywell will be the director and help us plan the shoot and still shots based on the locations chosen. Jennifer Delaney will be coordinating the resources for the days and the arrangements for the shoot locations.
Shooting is planned for early next winter to ensure we have all the things we need for the shoot – locations, props, people and Helly Hansen gear. Shoot days will be on Saturdays and we will outline the schedule for all shoot days before the winter season commences in December for most locations across Canada.
Who should consider applying?
We hope to recruit active members for the various locations. We seek a balance of men and women that reflect the diversity in our organization, including skiers and snowboarders. You must be comfortable being filmed, take direction quickly, and feel confident in your skiing, snowboarding and first aid skills on any terrain type.
Special notes:
- We will not necessarily select patrollers from the specific hills we are filming.
- Participation is voluntary; the CSP will pay no compensation.
- We will provide uniform items (HH jacket, pants, and patrol backpack) for shoot days only; patrollers must return these items at the end of the shoot day.
- When possible, we will coordinate carpooling if safety measures allow.
It should be a fun time on the hills with toboggans, patrollers doing a sweep, and at the clinic to highlight everything we do. The minimum commitment is one day, with the potential for up to three days of involvement.
