Recognizing patrollers motivates them to do better, attain higher levels of achievement and feel valued for the work they do. When we recognize patrollers for their efforts and contributions, we stand a far greater chance of keeping them motivated and engaged in the organization.

The national awards program continues to ensure a modern approach is in place to recognize members for the good work they do. Currently there are 17 different national awards that members can be nominated for. The list and information about the current year’s recipients can be found on the national website under the members tab.  

With the changeover to YETI, we have yet to determine the process to nominate patrollers for awards. As the new nomination process becomes available, we will continue to keep the membership informed and up to date. 

Some key timeframes to keep in mind include:

  • Deadline for submissions: mid-April 2022
  • Finalization of awards: mid-May 2022

The specific dates will be sent to zone and division presidents in January 2022.

We are also looking for two individuals to sit on the national recognition committee and the posting and job description can be found within this issue of 5/5. What greater opportunity than to sit on a committee that gives back to the members and makes them feel valued.
