February 10, 2025, is International Ski Patrol Day

International Ski Patrol Day (ISPD) is an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the extraordinary ski patrollers who keep resorts open, safe and fun for people of all ages and skill levels.

The CSP is pleased to be partnering again with Helly Hansen Canada to show appreciation for everything our members do on and off the snow.

A portion of sales on February 10, 2025, from select Helly Hansen boutique stores and online sales from the hellyhansen.ca website will be donated to our organization.

We’re excited to see many of patrol teams each winter get involved, in big and small ways. This article provides a selection of resources and ideas to use to make a fun day at your local ski area!

Ideas on how to participate in ISPD

Share the gratitude at your ski area:

  • Work with your ski area management and set up a ‘Praise for Patrollers’ display at your resort to thank patrollers and engage the local community and resort-goers – and make it authentic to your resort and community.
  • Set up an education booth or table highlighting your patroller team and the work you do for visitors.
  • Brand high-traffic areas onsite with ISPD communication materials to raise awareness (please see resources link later in this article).
  • Ask your ski area to create some social media content leading up to the event promoting the day.

Add an ISPD event to your CSP Facebook page(s):

  • Create an event listing online with the date, description, and location.
  • Let followers know when they can expect more information about your ISPD activities, such as onsite plans for the day.
  • On CSP social channels use #skipatrolday when talking about ISPD in the lead up to, and on the day.
  • Share a live, behind-the-scenes look at some of the daily duties you do on patrol (avoid filming actual patient scenes; consider showing the atypical side of patrol days). Capture these videos in the month of January 2025.
  • Collate and share short thank you messages from resort staff and guests to share on February 10.

Share your CSP ski patrol story on your personal social media channels on February 10:

  • Share what you love about being a ski patroller.
  • Take videos and photos outside (in the chalet, on the chairlift, on the slopes) – authentic and in-the-moment is best.
  • Don’t forget to use #skipatrolday.
