In January of this year, we featured an article about the history of avalanche search and rescue dogs at Mount Sima in the Yukon who train and work with the CSP patrol team.
One of these special dogs is Kipper.
Also in January, CBC News featured a story about Kipper. He is one of eight avalanche dogs in training this year and upon successful completion he will join the other 30 qualified dogs working in B.C. and Alberta.
The full CBC article on Kipper and his adventures can be viewed here.
Kipper, the avalanche dog in training, is a media star!
