Fundraising enables us to keep our membership fees low and helps us purchase training supplies, equipment, uniforms, radios, and much more. We ask all patrollers (new, returning, and transfers) to complete an annual fundraising commitment. When you complete your fundraising commitment, you receive a discount on the following year’s fees.

You can complete your fundraising commitment for the year by working for two 4-hour shifts at the Calgary New & Used Ski Sale in October. Working at the ski sale is lots of fun and there is a wide range of roles available (sales, cash, security, parking lot, etc.). You can sign up for shifts starting at 8:00 a.m. on September 2 on the CNUSS Volunteer Sign-up page. Sign up early in September to get the shifts/duties you prefer.

Some years, the Canadian Ski Patrol participates in a casino, and you can complete your fundraising commitment for the year by working one 8-hour shift at the casino. In 2026, we will be participating in a casino in April, May, or June. The exact date and instructions on how to sign up will be provided here as soon as they are available.

If you can’t do your shifts personally, you can ask a friend or a family member to work on your behalf. You just need to let us know who is serving your shift for you. In fact, volunteering at one of these events is even more fun if you have a friend or family member with you. The more volunteers we provide, the more funds we raise. A portion of the funds we raise is used to keep the membership fees you pay in the fall as low as possible.
