Join the Canadian Ski Patrol for Calgary’s premiere road race, the Servus Calgary Marathon on Sunday, May 26! This race features full and half marathon distances, a unique 60 km option, and more accessible options such as a 10 km run and 5km walk. This is an amazing racecourse featuring exceptional views and wonderful people!

The Calgary Marathon is a unique way to work with Calgary’s largest event medical team, including emergency doctors, cardiologists, nurses, paramedics, and, of course, your fellow ski patrollers.

The Ski Patrol has a crucial job: to provide on-route medical support to runners in the field and assist injured runners with first aid until they can be evacuated to the medical tent or, if necessary, until EMS arrives on scene.

The onsite infirmary has expansive capabilities including IV therapy, ECG, blood chemistry analysis via i-STAT, and cooling baths. 90% of treated patients do not end up requiring the hospital system and are able to return home with family or friends, ensuring that the event maintains a low impact on the local healthcare system.

This is an incredible opportunity to work with patrollers from across the Calgary Zone as a single, unified team. This strengthens our bonds by creating new opportunities for friendship and learning about new ways of doing things we all take for granted.
